Dear Families,
I am excited to work with your child and your family. I'd like to share a little bit about myself and my experience, and to express my gratitude for your interest in receiving Speech-Language Pathology services with me at Aspirations.
I was born and raised here in the Land of Enchantment. My love for learning and helping others has been a lifelong journey. In 2005, I began studies at the University of New Mexico, earning a B.A. degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences with a minor in Psychology. In 2012, I completed a second B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Anthropology. I completed my master's coursework in Communication Disorders at Eastern New Mexico University in 2015, and I have been a practicing SLP since!
I have experience in a variety of settings, including medical, private, and education. I specialize in intervention for language, articulation, aural (re)habilitation, dysphagia management, and feeding. I have experience with specialty populations including early intervention, phonological processing disorder, individuals with hearing impairment, dysphagia, Down Syndrome, and autism. I also have teletherapy experience, and enjoy both in-person and remote work.
Beyond being a speech language pathologist, I enjoy reading, dance, art, and yoga. In November of 2020 I completed yoga teacher training and became a certified 200 Level yoga instructor. In the warmer months I enjoy kayaking and hiking with my sweet rescue pup, Aiden.
I have always had a passion for helping others and find being a speech-language pathologist incredibly rewarding. I look forward to meeting and working with you.
